The PSFPI has five key objectives:
- raise production and process standards
- increase tenders from small and local producers
- increase consumption of healthy and nutritious food
- reduce adverse environmental impacts of production and supply
- increase capacity of small and local suppliers to meet demand

PSFPI and the Government Office for the East Midlands
We works with government departments, industry, local authorities, regional agencies and other stakeholders to take forward regional activity to achieve the objectives of the PSFPI.
PSFPI and the East Midlands Food Chain Steering Group
We are an active member of the regional Food Chain Steering Group, part of the East Midlands Delivery Structure for the Government' s Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food, which supports the PSFPI.
PSFPI Contract and Co-ordinator
East Midlands Development Agency has awarded the Food and Drink Forum, a 16 month contract to deliver PSFPI activity in the region.
